20. Create
a new layer and call it "paint chips". Select the pen
mode (Shift-B), set color to white, and from the brush selection
select a spotted brush

21. Dab
a few chips around the edges of the mask. Only the area in the
mask get modified.

22. Adjust
the layer opacity to your taste
23. Add
a new layer, rename it to dirt
24. Set
the pen color to a dark brown and dab on the edges, then adjust
the layer opacity to taste

25. At
this point I created a copy of the Grooves layer by dragging it
to the "new page" icon at the bottom of the layers pallete

ON TO
THE BLOOD!!!!!!!
26. This
is pretty simple. Make a new layer, rename it to blood.
Set the
pen to pen mode if its not already and set the color to bright
red (not pure red). Set the brush to the spotted pen size of 27
or so
In the
options bar at the top of the screen set the pen properties to
"hard light" and Opacity to 50% or close to it.
In the
Layer blending tab, set the layer to Multiply and the Opacity
to 75% or close to it.
Make a
few short brush strokes that overlap (turn off the fade option
if its still on)

27. The blood just sits on top of everything right
now and that looks funny. Grab the Blood layer and move it to
rest between the Grooves and Shine Layer.

On to the Alpha channels....
