On to
making Cool deep scratches
13. Keeping
the current selection, create a new layer. Rename it to grooves..
14. In
the layers pallete select the "Add a layer style" button,
then select "Bevel and Emboss.."

15. Set
the Style to Emboss, Depth anywhere from 50 to 150 (adjust to
your taste), size to 1 to 5.
Under
shading set the first angle to 90 and the second to 50. I've found
that to make the skins look better the light should look like
its coming from straight above as opposed the the 45 degrees were
used too..

16. Set
the brush to brush mode (as opposed to pen mode) and draw a simple
line as such...

Because
we still have the selection enabled we can hit delete to delete
everything with the 'crawling-ants' and start again..... or use
the undo key ctrl-z
17. This
works great to make "mold" lines or seal joints. Try
using the shift key and making a few straight lines. Hold shift
down and draw horizontal or vertical lines. OR hit the mouse button
once to "drop" a point, after that hold down the shift
key and drop another point to make a straight line.
18. From
the Options panel at the top of the screen (default) hit the Brush
Dynamics button. Set the opacity to fade and the distance to 50
steps.

19. Clear
the selected area and draw a few lines. With any luck it will
look like this...

In the
above image I used a brush sized either 1 or 3 pixels.
On to
the paint chips!!!
